THE HARDNESS OF CK45 INDUCTION HARDENED CHROME PLATED BAR
Ck45 induction hardened chrome plated bar is used extensively by the hydraulic and pneumatic industries, for those applications utilising its high surface hardness and excellent resistance to surface impact. Induction hardened: Induction hardened is a form of heat treatment in which a metal part is heated by induction heating. Induction hardening of piston rods in hydraulic cylinders is performed in order to increase the resistance to damage from external impact in applications where there is risk for them. The hardness after this heat treatment is HRC 40 to 45. Surface hardness: min. 900 HV0.1 (66 HRC) the surface hardness in the induction-hardened zone immediately beneath the chrome layer is min. 55 HRC (HV 595). Hardening depth: 0.75 – 4.0mm depending on the diameter. Other hardening depths can be supplied by special arrangement. Corrosion resistance: min. 120 – 200 hours in Neutral Salt Spray testing according to ISO 9227 standard or its equivalents, co...
